Can MRI show an ACL or meniscus tear?+
MRI can assess the cruciate ligaments, menisci and many other structures, but findings must be interpreted with the clinical examination.
Do I need to fast?+
Fasting is generally not required for a routine non-contrast knee MRI.
How long does it take?+
A routine knee MRI commonly takes about 20–35 minutes, depending on the protocol and image quality required.
Will my whole body go inside the scanner?+
Positioning depends on the scanner and examination. The team will explain it before the scan.
Should I bring my X-ray?+
Yes. Previous X-rays, MRI and treatment records can provide useful comparison.
